This page describes the history of Nakijin Castle and how to enjoy Nakijin Castle more than ordinary sightseeing.

First, the history of Nakijin Castle. During the Yonsuke period (1314 to 1320), the national affairs of the Imperial King, Tamaki, were disturbed, and Anji Nakijin and Anji Osato were separated, and Nakijin, Urasoe and Osato (Takamine) Enter the Miyama era where Naruyama, Nakayama and Minamiyama and Ryukyu are ruled by three kings.
According to the Chinese historical document “MingJitsuroku,” the Ryukyu Kokuzan northern king seems to have traded with the three kings of Hanaji, Min, and Pan Anchi.

In 1416, Shoji Shishi, who became the Lord of Shuri Castle from Anji Sashiki, aimed at unifying Miyama,Hashi and Nakajo Castle Anji and Gosamaru Moriharu attacked Nakijin Castle in Kitayama.

At this time, Nakijin Anji’s Pan Anchi, who said he owned the treasure sword “Chiyokinmaru" (national treasure), seemed to have engaged outside the castle, but on the Yamakita side. Anji Kunigami, Anji Nago, and Anji Haji seemed to be on the side of attackers Tomoshi and others.
It is said that the brave Pan-Achi, with thousands of troops, confronted only 17 horses.

In addition, he was turned over to Motobu Plain, where his vassal (minor) was a hero, and became enlightened. He perceived himself and died at Nakijin Castle.

Since Kitayama was so brave that there were many heroes , Sang Bashio was born to Nakijin Castle and his sister, the wife of her wife, Inuji Anji. am sending.

As the name suggests, this post called Kitayama Superintendent (Hokuzankansyu) is a government post that governs and controls the northern side of Ryukyu, but in the Edo period of mainland Japan, would it be easier to say that it was Osaka Castle ? ?

Shochu, who entered Nakijin Castle as the first guardian of Kitayama, was born in 1391.

When his father, Shobashi, died in 1439, he returned to Shuri Castle because he became the second king of the Ryukyu Kingdom.

For a while, Yamakita was dispatched by the minister from Shuri, but around 1526, Anjis from various places were relocated to Shuri.
However, the Nakijin Castle is an exception, and during the Koji period (1488-1505), Kitayama was the third son of King Ryukyu of the Ryukyu Kingdom, the third generation, and the third son of King Shinshin. (Nakijin-Choten), and then Kitayama guardian and Nakijin beast were inherited.

The descendants will be the Gushikawa Goukiri landowner, Goshikawa Gushikawa Palace.

Magiri is seen in Okinawa and Amami Oshima , but it has the same administrative division as the current municipalities.

The stone wall of Nakijin Castle is the oldest way of making it called “no area only", but it is quite clever design, such as building along the terrain.

After the Battle of Sekigahara , in 1609, when the Shimazu Family of Satsumainvaded Ryukyu, the first to attack was Nakijin Castle.
At this time, Kitayama Superintendent and Nakijin Tomoyo (Nakijin-Chouyo) are killed? It is said that it was done.
However, the garrison escaped, and Nakijin Castle, which was almost uninhabited, was occupied and burned, and it is said that it died the next day.
Finally, Kitayama was abolished in 1665, after Asayuki Nakijin was appointed.

Sightseeing Nakijin Castle

Ishigaki’s gate “Heiromon" is also amazing.

As you pass through the Heiroumon gate, you will see the stairs, but on the right hand side you will see the steep natural valley near where you climb the stairs.
It is called Kazakh (a valley with water).

In addition, the stone stairs (Shichigosan stairs) are extending straight in front of you.
The cherry blossom branches are low and it is difficult to walk, but ordinary tourists go straight up.

However, the stone steps are said to be climbed by the U.S. Army after the war, so they are stairs designed to protect the castle ruins, and the old path is on the right hand side of the stone steps (right in the above photo).
Therefore, if you are a castle lover or want to enjoy the real Nakijin Castle, be sure to climb the old road on the right.

In this way, no one is walking, but you can enjoy the old-fashioned climbing road.
But that doesn’t mean it will take a detour.

It is an old road of Nakijin Castle with a very good atmosphere, but the stone is lumpy at the feet, so it is severe unless shoes are more than sneakers.
It is thought that the difficulty of climbing due to the stones being laid was to prevent the enemy from running up when attacked.
However, there is no need for a trekking pole.

Some say that the hub is scary, but after going through the gate, you will come to Oiwa in Hon-gaku (Ichi-no-Gu), where you will join the stone steps.

There is also a shrine of the god of fire (Hinukan) in the main district, so it is a power spot.IMG_4889The inscription “Sankoku Nakijin Castle Guard History Monument" on the right side of the shrine was erected in Nakijin Castle in August 1749 during the Edo period.
It is said to have been built by the descendants of Goshi Gushikawa Goten, who was the father of Shosha Nakijin and Shoji Nakijin who served as the guardian of Kitayama for generations.IMG_4890In addition, it is the remains of the building, but remains that can be imagined.IMG_4888The following is Utaki, a place of worship next to the Onna, in a ritual plaza called Omya.

In addition, half people do not visit, but please go through the following gate at the far right of the shrine of Hinogami.

IMG_4891You can go down to the place called “Shikei Shinmon Gukaku" at the back of Hongu.IMG_4892It seems that the nearby samurai and family lived at the Shikei Shinmonkaku, but it is still a wonderful wall.IMG_4893The sea can be seen from the Shikei Shinmon Guo, but I’m sorry for the bad weather.IMG_4895If you like, please take a panoramic photo.
