Shikoku is one of the islands that make up the Japanese archipelago along with Hokkaido, Honshu and Kyushu.
The four Shikoku prefectures (Tokushima prefecture, Kagawa prefecture, Ehime prefecture, Kochi prefecture) and their accompanying islands (Shodoshima, Omishima, Oshima, Nakajima, Hakatajima, Toshima, etc.) are collectively called the "Shikoku region".
If these accompanying islands are not included, they may be called “Shikoku Mainland” or “Shikoku Island”.
